Comparison
Weavr vs One Thing
Both put what you're working on in the menu bar. They differ in how many things you're juggling.

One Thing, by Sindre Sorhus, is a lovely little app built on a simple idea: write the one task or goal that matters most today, and see it in your menu bar all day. Weavr shares the idea that the menu bar is the right place for what you're working on. Where they differ is what happens when there's more than one thing.
What One Thing does
One Thing shows a single line of text in your menu bar. Click it to edit, and that's most of it, by design. It supports Markdown for bold, italic and links, takes text dragged onto it or sent from other apps, and can be automated with the Shortcuts app, a URL scheme, the command line or Raycast. It's free, with no ads.
It holds one thing on purpose. For a list, its maker points to a separate app.
What Weavr does
Weavr is for days when you have several things in progress at once. Each one is a thread that remembers the step you're on and the steps after it. The menu bar shows the current thread and its step, like Checkout redesign: Merge the PR.
When you finish a stretch or hit a wait, press Next (⌃⌥⌘N from any app) and Weavr puts you on the next thread, right where you left it. A priority brings a thread back more often, small to-dos drop in between threads, scheduled to-dos arrive on time, and a brain dump holds everything else on your mind.

Choose One Thing if
- You work best with a single focus for the day and want a gentle reminder of it.
- You want something free and as simple as it gets.
- You like to automate your menu bar text from Shortcuts or scripts.
Choose Weavr if
- Your day is several ongoing things at once, not one.
- You keep losing your place when you switch between them.
- You want to be handed the next thing, with the step you were on, instead of deciding every time.
